Welcome to Surval Montreux; an exceptional international boarding school exclusively for girls, located in a spectacular Swiss setting.
Founded as an international boarding School for girls in Leysin by Mrs Georgette-F Andrea in 1961, the School started in a small chalet situated above the valley, which inspired the name ‘Sur-Val’. Moving to its current home on the hill overlooking Montreux and Lac Léman in 1998, Surval continues to thrive.
Surval enjoyed a long-standing reputation as a successful Swiss Finishing School and has remained true to its roots, continuing to offer courses in Etiquette, international Savoir-vivre and languages. Now, home to up to 60 full boarders from around the world and offering an internationally recognised curriculum, the School provides a bespoke education for girls aged 12-19.
Surval Summer Camp welcomes over 100 girls each year. Exclusively for girls aged 10-17, Surval Summer Campers can join for a 2-5 week fun-packed first adventure away from home, a return visit or in preparation for a School year with us.
Families who choose Surval Summer Camp are looking for something different. In addition to our exceptional learning and enrichment opportunities, our outstanding package of care includes an excellent catering and dining experience. Our location is aspirational and inspirational with both lake and mountains outward-reaching, crystal fresh alpine air – here is the most extraordinary environment offering girls an experience they will not get anywhere else.
Many girls who join us for Surval Summer Camp return to join our academic year, studying the American High School Program with Advanced Placements or making the most of our French Language and Culture gap programme, an immersive, intense French programme suitable for a term, semester or year abroad. Our emphasis is on languages and culture, social enterprise and global perspectives; preparing each girl for life - understanding herself and the world, acquiring the skills needed to present herself and land the best university, job and future.
There is no ‘typical Surval girl’ - each girl who joins us is prepared for a call to adventure, crossing cultural thresholds to Switzerland and Surval, ready to challenge and really get to know herself. Coming for the summer, a year, or longer, for an experience which creates powerful stories and transforms tomorrows.
I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our extraordinary school.
Warmest regards,
Patricia Woodhouse
